FAQ
- Should I convert iPhone photos to PNG or JPG?
- JPG is usually better for camera photos. PNG is lossless and huge at 12 megapixels. Choose PNG for UI shots, diagrams, or when a tool refuses JPEG.
- Does PNG keep transparency from HEIC?
- If the HEIC has an alpha channel, the canvas preserves it and PNG stores it. Most iPhone photos are opaque, so the PNG will look like a still with no transparency.
- Why is there no quality slider?
- PNG is lossless. The slider would not change the image, only waste a control. File size depends on the pixel dimensions, not a quality setting.
